Since the 1980s, artists have been developing new ways to technically manipulate electronic images and sound structures to alter the aesthetics of visual imagery and perception. Access to digital image production opened new dimensions once again. Wulf Herzogenrath’s archive reflects the wide field of video art between performance and sculpture. The exhibition “Magic Media – Media Magic” shows art and documentary film material, written documents, sketches, photography and artist’s guest books, including works by Rebecca Horn and artists featured in the edition Videoart at Midnight.
