Joseph Kosuth Sean Kelly Gallery

Installation view of Neither Appearance Nor Illusion © Joseph Kosuth Studio

Neither Appearance Nor Illusion first opened to the public in 2009 within the moats of the medieval Louvre. This large-scale installation will now be newly on view to the public in the Hall Charles V, from July 2016 onwards. For this project, Kosuth has worked with the origi-nal structure of the Louvre to write on the old walls of the medieval palace, encouraging the visitor to rediscover this mysterious raw space. Kosuth, well known for the use of texts and quotations of others for his works, has decided in this case, and for the first time since 1979, to appropriate his own writing. For more information, please visit louvre.fr.
