The Sandretto Re Rebaudengo Collection will be on view at the me Collectors Room Berlin from May 2 to September 21, 2014. In the first ever exhibition of works from this collection in Germany, entitled Stanze/Rooms, Patrizia Sandretto Re Rebaudengo presents her personal view on the international contemporary art scene. The exhibition will feature works by outstanding contemporary artists, all dealing with the topic of “rooms,” but through a variety of mediums, including two James Casebere photographs, Toilets and Asylum.

In Italian, the word “stanza” originally signified a standing or stopping place, a room where someone could withdraw to and find inspiration. The exhibition attempts to recreate this traditional idea of a stanza through a series of artworks, with reference to current events, cinema, music, literature, and art history.

Concurrent with the exhibition are a collector’s talk with Patrizia Sandretto Re Rebaudengo on May 3 at 3 pm, a reading on June 11 at 7:30 pm, workshops for children, and guided tours every Saturday at 3 pm.
