The Pavilhão Julião Sarmento, a new contemporary art center, opens on June 4. Admission will be free between June 5 and 8.
A meeting point for a program that goes beyond exhibitions, this space proposes the meeting of visual arts with cinema, literature, music and fashion, reflecting the transversal spirit that characterized Sarmento's life and work.
The museum is located in Belém, in a building adjacent to some of the city's most emblematic cultural and museum facilities.
Based on Julião Sarmento's collection, the city reinforces its contemporary and cosmopolitan dimension by showcasing already established artistic figures with future generations of Contemporary Art.
