Dawoud Bey awarded Membership to the American Academy of Arts & Sciences

Sean Kelly congratulates Dawoud Bey on being awarded membership to the prestigious American Academy of Arts & Sciences. The award honors artists, scholars, scientists, and leaders in the public, non-profit, and private sectors for their accomplishments. The members elected in 2024, in 31 areas of expertise, include Columinst Jamelle Bouie, Actor, Director and Producer George Clooney, Apple CEO, Tim Cook, Author Jhumpa Lahiri and Violinist Vijay Gupta, among others.

Founded in 1780, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences honors excellence and convenes leaders from every field of human endeavor to examine new ideas, address issues of importance to the nation and the world, and work together to cultivate every art and science which may tend to advance the society as a whole.
