In the provincial house you can walk between the art from light to dark, from east to west, from day to night. Tussen Licht en Donker shows eighty art objects from the collection of the province of Antwerp. Some works go all out for the light. Others shroud themselves in darkness. Sun versus moon.
The focus is on 'Santa Maria della Salute', a work by David Claerbout from the series 'Venice Lightboxes' that is rarely shown. The monumental tapestry 'Day and Night' by Julien Van Vlasselaer, once designed for the previous provincial government building, forms the background.
