Anthony McCall: Traveling Wave

Traveling Wave, an installation by Anthony McCall, has recently opened at Yale School of Art’s 32 Edgewood Gallery in New Haven, Connecticut. The installation was originally conceived and produced in 1972, but has never before been exhibited. McCall, who is renowned for his Solid Light installations, describes the dynamics of the sound piece as "a dense cloud of ‘white noise’... repeatedly launched down an empty 60-foot‐long gallery, creating a rolling, invisible sculpture." The exhibition, which is curated by Robert Storr, also includes three early works on paper in which McCall explores the ideas for Traveling Wave.

On January 21st at 6:30pm, McCall will deliver a lecture discussing the installation, which will be followed by a reception.
