Anthony McCall: Drawing with Light

Sean Kelly Gallery is delighted to announce that Victoria University's Adam Art Gallery in Wellington, New Zealand, will present an exhibition of Anthony McCall's work, Anthony McCall: Drawing with Light. The exhibition will open to the public on February 24 and will continue to April 25, 2010. The exhibition is curated by well-known writer, art historian and curator, Christina Barton. It is the headline event in the 2010 New Zealand International Arts Festival's visual arts program.

This exhibition marks the first time that New Zealand audiences will be able to experience Anthony McCall's luminous projections as well as view drawings, notations and photographs which will offer insights into the full range of his output and work in progress since he began his career in the early seventies.

In conjunction with the New Zealand Film Archive, the Adam Art Gallery will also present Anthony McCall's iconic "solid light" film entitled Line Describing a Cone,1973, at the Wellington Town Hall at 7pm on Monday, March 15, 2010.

Anthony McCall will tour the country giving lectures and will undertake a site visit towards developing a major permanent site-specific commission on Auckland's waterfront.
