Alec Soth’s latest work, produced after an extended hiatus by the artist, is a lyrical exploration of the limitations of photographic representation and a new approach of the Magnum photographer to the subjects portrayed. While these large-format color photographs are made all over the world, they aren’t about any particular place or population. Alec Soth explains: “When I got back to photography […], I wanted to simply spend time looking at other people and, hopefully, glimpse their interior life”.
