Peter Liversidge at the Bozar Electronic Weekend

In conjunction with a performance of the Texas based band Balmorhea, a video by Peter Liversidge will be debuted at the Bozar Electronic Weekend Festival in Brussels, Belgium. The video, which was created by Liversidge with the music of Balmorhea in mind, will form a backdrop to the band's performance. The work consists of archival footage from professional & amateur pre-1950s films and was conceived to compliment the emotional tone of the music, which The New Yorker has described as "a slow-burning, wordless, and ambient Americana that manages to captivate while avoiding the histrionics of its post-rock forebears." The premiere will take place during the festival on October 28, 2011 at 9pm on the "Hall M" stage; the video will then travel with the band on their future tour dates.

The annual Bozar Electronic Weekend offers a sample of the best electronic music and associated phenomena, with concerts, soundscapes, audiovisuals and more. Virtually all contemporary styles are featured, from local projects to big international names, from dark industrial sounds to modern minimalism. This event marks the second time that Liversidge has collaborated with Balmorhea, as they closed his exhibition at the Ingleby Gallery with a performance in April of 2010 as a proposal come to fruition.

Peter Liversidge will have is first exhibition at the Sean Kelly Gallery from December 9, 2011 - January 28, 2012.
