Peter Liversidge & Low collaboration

Sean Kelly announces that Peter Liversidge has begun a year-long collaboration with Low, a highly-regarded band from Duluth, Minnesota. The partnership will culminate in a new set of proposals written for the musicians.

Liversidge, whose conceptually-based practice begins with type-written proposals for performances and artworks across a wide expanse of mediums, was invited to produce a backdrop for Low's concert at the Royal Festival Hall of the Southbank Centre in London on April 3, 2012 at 7:30 pm to inaugurate his collaboration with the band. As detailed in a proposal from Liversidge, the backdrop will consist of three video projections, lighting, mirror balls, festoon lighting and shadows. The work designed for the show is born of a fascination with the relationship between the audience and performer as it has evolved with the technological innovations of the past century, as well as Liversidge's personal relationship with the band and appreciation of their music.

The first 500 people to arrive at the concert will receive an embossed facsimile of Liversidge's proposal related to the performance.
