Jose Dávila in Sueño autosucifiente

Sculptural pieces interact with raw industrial and organic materials. In an almost archaeological way, the elements of Dávila's work contain biographical references to the artist himself.

Self-sufficient sleep is a kind of dream experience in which the different elements form dialogue and generate a self-sufficient structural system in which fragility, resistance, calm and tension coexist. In his work, Dávila appropriates both objects and symbols that allow us to question our visual relationships with art and spaces, and how we reproduce languages that identify us with everyday life. This aspect is fundamental when analyzing the components of his pieces, and their basic forms such as point, line and plane.
