Jose Dávila: Common Effort

Unveiled in July 2026, Jose Dávila's new mural installation Common Effort pays homage to those who have brought the San Juan de Dios Market to life for generations.

The monumental piece is made up of more than 33,000 colorful mosaics , creating a vibrant composition that celebrates the popular identity of Guadalajara through elements deeply linked to the market: flowers, fruits, merchandise, traditions and, above all, the stories of effort of its vendors.

More than an artistic intervention, Common Effort  recognizes the daily work of thousands of vendors who have transformed San Juan de Dios into one of the largest covered markets in Latin America and a symbol of life in Guadalajara. Each mosaic represents a small part of a collective history built over decades among aisles, stalls, and generations of families dedicated to commerce.
