Johan Grimonprez in Constructing the World: Art and Economics 1919-1939 and 2008-2018

Ten years after the climax of the global financial crisis of 2008, which shook the economies of America and Europe to their foundations and has a lasting impact on our present, this thematic exhibition illustrates for the first time the dramatic impact of the economy on art in a global comparison, and compares it to two Epochs on. Economic phenomena in the Classical Modernism of the 1920s / 30s are reflected with focus on Germany, Russia and the USA and juxtaposed with artistic positions of the immediate present.
