Zona Maco, Mexico City
Booth D207
February 7 - 10, 2019
Sean Kelly is delighted to return to Zona Maco in Mexico City for the third consecutive year. Exemplifying the Gallery's commitment to presenting important contemporary art, we will feature a thought-provoking presentation of painting, sculpture, and photography. Featuring a monumental new sculpture by Jose Dávila continuing his exploration of the tension between industrial and organic materials, and the forces of compression and balance; sculpture and works on paper by Antony Gormley exploring the relationship of the human body to space; new work by Idris Khan continuing his investigation into the meaning of time through densely layered imagery, inhabiting a space between abstraction and figuration; Candida Höfer’s large-scale architectural photographs which invite the viewer to contemplate subtle shifts in light that make up the character of a space; Laurent Grasso’s ongoing series Studies into the Past explores our perceptions of reality through his manipulation of historical imagery; Landon Metz’s paintings combine a language of abstraction and visual dynamism to create a sense of movement; and Ilse D’Hollander’s abstract paintings subtly allude to the everyday, hinting at nature and the landscape of the Flemish countryside. We will also feature a selection of important works by Sergio Camargo, James Casebere, Julian Charrière, Iran do Espírito Santo, Rebecca Horn, Callum Innes, and Janaina Tschäpe. We look forward to welcoming existing friends, clients and new audiences to our dynamic booth at the fair which highlights the international breadth and depth of the gallery’s program.
