Sean Kelly will return as an exhibitor at the second edition of the Frieze art fair on Randall’s Island in New York. We look forward to welcoming you to the fair, where we will present a carefully selected group of new and important works by gallery artists. As we have done in the past, the artworks on our booth (Stand B46) were chosen in response to the light-filled, bespoke structure that houses Frieze New York. The booth focuses on works that engage nuanced shifts in medium, scope and temporalities. To this end, the booth will be anchored by two works - Peter Liversidge's bulb sign BEFORE/AFTER and a new photograph by James Casebere, featured on this week's cover of The New York Times Magazine - each of which employ ideas of change and perception.
Our booth will also feature sculptures by Iran do Espírito Santo, Antony Gormley, Donald Judd, Terence Koh and Nathan Mabry, paintings by Kaye Donachie, Callum Innes, James White and Kehinde Wiley, photographs by Marina Abramovic and Alec Soth and a new, large work on paper by Los Carpinteros.
During the fair, the gallery will open the first Los Carpinteros exhibition at our new, 22,000 square foot gallery space at 475 Tenth Avenue. The exhibition, titled Irreversible, will be installed in all three of the gallery’s exhibition spaces and will include new large-scale sculptures as well as a video installation—a first for the artists—derived from a public performance originally conceived and produced by Los Carpinteros for the 2012 Havana Biennial. Irreversible will open to the public with a reception on Saturday, May 11th from 6 to 9 pm and will be on view at Sean Kelly through June 22.
