At this year's Art 44 Basel art fair, Sean Kelly has curated a selection of works from the gallery's diverse program of contemporary artists that engage the concepts of reflection, light and perception. Included on the booth (Hall 2.1 Booth N2), will be paintings by Laurent Grasso, Rebecca Horn and Callum Innes, a historic definition piece by Joseph Kosuth, sculpture by Terence Koh and Nathan Mabry and new works by Marina Abramovic, Los Carpinteros, Iran do Espírito Santo, Idris Khan and Frank Thiel. The fair will be open to the public from June 13 - 16, 2013.
At Art Basel Unlimited (Booth U00), Sean Kelly will present The Shadow World by Johan Grimonprez. The Shadow World, based on the book by Andrew Feinstein, is a remarkable exposé of the global arms trade and its impact on the way we live, and die.
Also on view in Basel during the fair is Laurent Grasso's solo exhibition Disasters and Miracles at the Kunsthaus Baselland in Muttenz/Basel, Switzerland. The exhibition, conceived specifically for the Kunsthaus Baselland, includes many works that draw on historic disasters and miracles from the region, expanding on the artist's interest in the weight of history and memory that particular places can exert. For more information on the exhibition, please visit the Kunsthaus Baselland's website.
